With a reputation for friendliness and one of the cheapest pints in London, the club boasts the largest number of members under the age of 35 in traditional clubland, accounting for some 50% of our membership.
As an oasis in the centre of town, it is a place to relax, entertain and to make new friends. The East India’s elegant clubhouse is one of the great clubs of St James’s, located just 100 yards from Piccadilly. Facilities include a number of drawing rooms, a lively bar, a renowned dining room, 67 bedrooms, gym, snooker tables, business centre, library and event rooms.
Throughout the year members can enjoy many superb social occasions organised by the club including dinners, cocktail parties and lectures, along with access to cricket at Lord’s, our box at Ascot and rugby internationals at Twickenham.
With a vibrant and youthful membership there is an opportunity to pursue a variety of activities and interests. Be it playing rugby, cricket and polo; taking to the water with rowing and sailing; the challenges of fly fishing, golf, shooting and hill walking; games of skill such as chess, backgammon and snooker or enthusiasm for motoring, horse racing, jazz or wine, there is plenty to get involved in.
